HEMINGWAY, S.C. (WCBD) —Williamsburg County Sheriff’s deputies arrested four men in connection with an armed robbery incident that happened Thursday morning.
Jowuan Todd Givens, 23, of Kingstree is charged with attempted armed robbery, discharging firearms into a dwelling, and pointing a firearm at a person. Brandon Myers, 27, of Kingstree, is charged with attempted armed robbery and pointing a firearm at a person. Travon Dashawn Mouzon, 18, of St. Stephens is charged with attempted armed robbery and pointing a firearm at a person. Michael Jerome Mcclary, 22, of Hemingway is charged with attempted armed robbery.
Givens, Myers, Mouzon, and Mcclary are currently being held at the Williamsburg County Detention Center.
Sheriff’s office spokesman Investigator Alex Edwards says deputies responded to the Hemingway Apartments on Daisy Lane at 12:15 a.m. on September 15.
The victim told investigators that the suspects knocked on his door. When he opened it, he saw that one of the men with a handgun. One of the suspects fired the gun when he tried to close the door.
After not being able to get inside the home, the men fled the scene.
No one was injured during the incident, according to a news release.
The four is scheduled to appear before a Williamsburg County Magistrate for an explanation of charges.
