North Charleston couple charged in roommate’s murder

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) -Investigators responded to 5036 Hyde Avenue in reference to a suspicious death Wednesday evening.

According to a police report a male victim who has been identified by the Charleston County Coroner as Jeffrey Shiver, 41, of Fort Mill, S.C., was found in his room lying face down with multiple lacerations and bruising to his facial area.

The victim’s roommates were transported to the detective office for an interview. During an interview with Henry Fickling, he confessed to attacking the victim with his fists and a sharp object after becoming angry with the victim over finances on Tuesday afternoon.

Henry Fickling was charged with Murder. Fickling’s wife, Allura Boyd was charged with Accessory After the Fact of Murder, due to having knowledge of the incident and failing to notify police.
