DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) — The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating following a deadly crash on Interstate 26.
Troopers say the incident happened on Friday, September 2 at 12:32 p.m.
We’re told the driver of a 2000 Ford Taurus, later identified as Roberta Singer, 28, of Moncks Coroner, was traveling west on I-26 near the 177-mile marker when she lost control, ran off the road down an embankment, and struck a tree.
Singer was trapped inside and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The road was down to one lane for about an hour before being reopened to traffic.
