Ravenel man arrested following shooting in downtown Charleston

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) — The Charleston Police Department is investigating after a physical altercation turned into shots being fired in downtown Charleston.

Myles Taylor, 23, of Ravenel, is charged with attempted murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime and armed robbery. He is being held at the Al Cannon Detention Center.

On Friday, August 26, authorities responded to 9 Coming Street in reference to someone being shot at least two times.

The investigation revealed Taylor was an invited guest at the location where several people gathered and a dice game began that continued into the early hours.

At approximately 6:30 a.m. Taylor robbed an individual, who was also an invited guest at the location. A physical altercation ensued and Taylor shot the victim.
