Police: Man taken to MUSC with gunshot wound following downtown shooting

image1CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) — A man is recovering at MUSC with gunshot wounds to his leg, following a shooting Friday morning in downtown Charleston.

The call came in at 6:34 a.m. on Friday, about the shooting at9 Coming Street, near Beaufain Street, according to Police.

According to Police, one lane of Coming Street between Beaufain and Wentworth is closed.

Memminger Elementary School was placed on a code yellow lockdown due to the nearby shooting, but it has since been ifted.

Police are still on the scene and are investigating. No arrests have been made at this time.
