Precautionary lockdown lifted on 3 BCSD schools

GOOSE CREEK, S.C. (WCBD) — On Wednesday morning the Berkeley County School District (BCSD) administrative office was placed on lockdown, according to Katie Orvin with BCSD. The lockdown was lifted before noon on Wednesday.

As a safety precaution, Goose Creek High School, Sedgefield Middle and Sedgefield Intermediate were placed on administrative lockdown due to reports of a potential threat in the area, according to BCSD officials. School officials say law enforcement has since advised that it was safe to lift those lockdowns.

Students are safe and have resumed their normal schedule.

BCSD officials tell us this was a precautionary measure taken to ensure the safety and security of our students.
