Missing elderly man with medical problems found at home

AWENDAW, S.C. (WCBD) — The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office says a man who was reported missing was found at his home, unresponsive.

On Wednesday, August 24 around 10 a.m., Charleston County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of a missing elderly man, Dillard Turner, 63. One of Turner’s relatives told deputies that Turner has a history of medical problems, and his family is concerned about his safety. He also suffers from dementia, according to relatives.

We’re told just before 1 p.m., deputies found Turner and Charleston County Emergency Medical Services were dispatched to the scene to provide emergency life recovery treatment to the patient. He was transported to Roper St. Francis Hospital for additional medical care.

There were no immediate signs of foul play, according to authorities.

His condition is unknown at this time.
