BERKELEY, S.C. (WCBD) -The Berkeley County School District has approved its second and final reading on changing attendance zones for local schools Tuesday evening.
The change comes in preparation for the opening of the new Tanner/Foster Creek elementary school.
During a board meeting held on June 24th, the Board of Education voted to establish the attendance zone for the Tanner/Foster Creek area elementary school, and to change the grade configurations of Goose Creek Primary and Sedgefield Intermediate to K-5th grade. These changes are scheduled to take effect during the 2018-2019 school year.
Berkeley County School District hosted two community drop-ins in July for SFI and GCP parents. Parents were able to view the proposed attendance lines and provide feedback.
