Person killed in fiery tractor-trailer crash in Orangeburg County identified

ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) — The Orangeburg County Coroner’s Office released the identity of the person killed in a fiery crash in Orangeburg County.

Chief Deputy Coroner Sean D. Fogle says Kenneth Avis, 48, of Georgetown died from thermal injuries due to the collision.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, as David Lee Gullikson, 44, of August Ga., was driving from Neeses Camp Road, Avis, traveling west, slammed into the tractor-trailer driven by Gullikson. The Volvo tractor-trailer then burst into flames.

The accident is under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
