Children’s Museum hosts 12th annual “Fam Jam” event

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) — The Children’s Museum is hosting it’s 12th annual Fam Jam event. Fam Jam 2016 celebrates the ‘power of play,’ showing children and adults that being active is fun!

The event, put on by the Children’s Museum of the Lowcountry and the Charleston Farmers Market, also collaborates with more than 25 community organizations that will participate in the event. Activities will include jump castles, a climbing wall and live music–to name a few.

Professor Karen Hutchinson of Rowan University says, “PLAY is actually the work of a child in which they are preparing themselves for adult roles and for society at large.”

Fam Jam is scheduled for September 17 at Marion Square, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. From September 5-16, News 2 Today is holding a contest, where we are giving away a family five-pack! The Lowcountry’s Chief Meteorologist Rob Fowler will emcee the event.
