Goose Creek, S.C (WCBD)- Former Goose Creek Assistant Principal, Paul Herman pleaded guilty in front of judge Friday to having sexual relations with a 16-year old student.
The sentence comes after a father sued Berkeley County School District because he says they did not report or investigate alleged text messages sent to his child by Paul Herman.
Authorities say the text messages from the former Goose Creek High School Assistant Principal were sexual in nature.
Herman has previously been brought up on charges for sexual battery with a student.
Herman will now have to attend sex offender counseling, but is not required to register as a sex offender. Prosecutors were pushing for the maximum penalty of 5 years in prison.
