HUGER S.C. (WCBD) — The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office is investigating following a vehicle break-in at a local church.
Authorities say at approximately 8 p.m. on Monday, August 1, deputies responded to a vehicle break-in at the Charity Church in Huger.
We’re told while church members were attending services, the suspect broke out a rear passenger window and stole about $350 worth of items from the victim’s vehicle.
The suspect was caught on surveillance video where he was seen driving a dark color full size SUV that is likely a 1999-2000 GMC Yukon or Cadillac Escalade.
“It is just terrible that this suspect chose to prey on people while they were worshiping,” Sheriff Duane Lewis said. “This person needs to be caught and the citizens have been so great with helping us identify criminals,” Lewis added.
