Notably, Williams/Ram is on the opposite end of the bracket from Mattek-Sands/Sock. Should they meet, it would be in the final.

Mattek-Sands/Sock will play Great Britain’s Jamie Murray/Johanna Konta in the opening round. Murray has won two doubles Grand Slam titles (one men’s, one mixed) and is considered a doubles specialist. Williams/Ram should have an easier first round match against the Netherlands’ Kiki Bertens and Jean-Julien Rojer.

As expected, Spain’s superstars Garbine Muguruza (seeded third in singles, but lost in third round) and Rafael Nadal have teamed up.
