Day 4: Beach volleyball recap

Men’s preliminary: Pedro Solberg/Evandro (BRA) vs. Schalk/Saxton (CAN)

Brazil’s Pedro Solberg/Evando were the first team to take to the sands to kick off the action on Day 4. The Brazilian duo had the support of fans who cheered on the host team and audibly booed when Canadians.

The Canadians took a slight lead until the Brazilian men tied at 11-11, thanks to an ace from Evandro. Pedro Solberg/Evandro took the first set 21-17. The Canadians rallied by in the second, winning the set 21-18.

In the third and final set, Canada topped Brazil 17-21, 21-18, 16-14 to win their second match of pool play. The Brazilian men have two losses and no wins in the pool play while Canada has one loss, one win.
