Man pistol whipped, robbed at gunpoint in Kingstree

KINGSTREE, S.C. (WCBD) — The Williamsburg County Sheriff’s Office is investigating following a carjacking in Kingstree.

According to department spokesman Investigator Alex Edwards, On Sunday, August 7, Eric Williams, 47, of Kingstree was pistol whipped and robbed at gunpoint on Cherry Avenue.

An investigation revealed, a female flagged down Williams as he was traveling on Cherry Ave.  Two males armed with handguns ambushed Williams when he stopped, according to a news release.

We’re told Williams’ 2002 Cadillac, cell phone, and money was taken during the incident.

Edwards says Williams received injuries to the back of his head during this robbery and was treated at an area hospital.
