ORANGEBURG CO., S.C. (WCBD) — Orangeburg County Sheriff’s investigators are looking for an Orangeburg man believed to have obtained an insurance settlement – twice.
Investigators have obtained a warrant on Travis Green, 31, for obtaining goods under false pretenses in connection with a bad check back in June. A local business reporting cashing a check for Green in the amount of $3,250. However, the check came back on Monday as a stop payment check. Investigators say they learned the check was an insurance settlement Green was receiving.
But when he learned a check had been mailed via regular ground services, he asked for an expedited payment. Both checks arrived, and in spite of his being informed to destroy one check, both were cashed.
If anyone has any information on the Dena Lane man’s location, they are asked to call the OCSO at 803-534-3550 or Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
