SUMTER COUNTY, S.C (WCBD) — Two organizations are offering a reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspects who stole about $20,000 in guns from a Sumter store.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the National Shooting Sports Foundation made the announcement Monday, August 8.
Sheriff’s office spokesman Ken Bell says at around 2 a.m. on Friday, August 5, two unidentified people broke into Tony’s Gun’s and stole several firearms before leaving.
Video surveillance shows one thief smashing display cases with a hammer while a second thief scooped up handguns and threw them into a bag.
The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office and the ATF are investigating.
