CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) — A preliminary hearing is scheduled Thursday for the man suspected of a downtown Charleston murder last year. Charles Mungin, 21, is charged in the March 2015 shooting of then Patrick Moffly,23, on Smith Street. Officials believe the incident was drug-related.
The hearing is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m.
Back in 2015, the Charleston Police responded to gunshots heard at 97 Smith Street at 3:45 p.m. on Friday, March 4. Upon entering the residence, police found Moffly with a gunshot wound and he was taken to MUSC where he later died. Mungin was arrested one year later in March 2016.
