Cops: Woman didn’t report deputy’s daughter jumping from van

UPDATE at 12:35pm –

A woman has been charged in an incident on I-26 Monday that resulted in the death of a Richland County deputy’s daughter.
31-year old Ebony Roddick of Columbia is charged with failure to give information or render aid.  Her bond was set at $5,000.


In a statement, Orangeburg County Sheriff Leroy Ravenel says the investigation is ongoing and that there is still more evidence to be processed.


BOWMAN, S.C. (AP) – Authorities are investigating the death of the daughter of a Richland County deputy who may have been pushed out of a van on Interstate 26 in Orangeburg County.

Media outlets report the Orangeburg Sheriff’s Department says 21-year-old Dominique Davis of Columbia was struck and killed on the roadway near Bowman Monday night. A witness told investigators that Davis may have pushed out of the van she was traveling in before being struck by a semi-truck.
