Fire knocks out power to Mt. Pleasant shopping plaza

A fire in Mt. Pleasant around 12:30 on Sunday afternoon knocked out power to an entire shopping plaza. The fire happened at East Cooper Plaza on Johnnie Dodds Boulevard behind the Batteries & Bulbs store. According to SCE&G, the fire caused damage which required them to disconnect the power. SCE&G says they cannot reconnect the power until repairs are made, so they do not have a guess as to when the power will be back on for those shops. No word from Mt. Pleasant Fire Department on what caused that fire.
