Austin, Texas (NBC News)- An “active shooter incident” in Austin left at least one dead and several others wounded early Sunday, authorities said.
EMS officials in the Texas capital confirmed that a woman aged in her 30s was pronounced dead at the scene, while three others were transported to hospital.
They added “multiple incidents” had occurred in the 6th Street area.
According to NBC station KXAN, paramedics said several patients who had suffered bullet wounds were believed to be in the area.
At least four gunshots could be heard on footage posted on social media. However, it was unclear whether they were from the original incident or potentially the police response.
