ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) — Orangeburg County authorities arrested two men wanted in connection to a deadly shooting in Eutawville.
Matthew Brown, 20 and Frank Smoot, 20 are both charged with murder, attempted murder, and possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime. Brown turned himself in to authorities while Smoot was arrested late Thursday while investigators were continuing their search.
A total of four people were arrested following a deadly shooting of a woman in Eutawville on Tuesday, July 19. We’re still working to learn her identity from the Orangeburg County Coroner’s Office.
A man was also injured in the incident.
Authorities from multiple agencies conducted a massive search Tuesday into Wednesday after witnesses reported gunshots from several men in a car and a group outside of a home on Craig Street.
Deputies were involved in a vehicle chase after they spotted a vehicle matching the description. The suspects later crashed.
Zaquan Taste, 18, and Treshawn Jenkins, 22, were both taken into custody during the overnight search.
During a hearing on Thursday, bond was deferred to a circuit court judge for Taste and Jenkins. Bond was deferred to a circuit judge for Brown and Smoot on Friday.
Orangeburg County sheriff Leroy Ravenell says the shooting is still being investigating and more charges or arrests are possible.
