National Ice Cream Day Sunday

(WCBD)- Your weekend just got a whole lot sweeter. Sunday, July 17 is National Ice Cream Day. It was back in 1984 that President Ronald Reagan proclaimed July as national ice cream month and established national ice cream day as the third Sunday in July.

If you decide to indulge in the delicious cold sweet treat today, there are some great deals around the Lowcountry.
“Your Pie” pizza off Savannah Highway, will be giving away free gelato today instead of ice cream.

In Mount Pleasant, Carvel Ice Cream customers who buy one cup or cone of any size will get one free!

And, at Baskin Robbins, they’ll be donating 75 cents from every ice cream float sold to the United Service Organization.
