‘A Ride to Remember’ raising awareness for Alzheimer’s ends Sunday

Mount Pleasant, S.C (WCBD)- 300 bicyclists from across South Carolina will be participating in this 8th Ride to Remember. The 3-day, 250+ -mile fundraising ride, raises money for the Alzheimer’s Association South Carolina Chapter.

The cross-state route began in Simpsonville on July 15 and ends Sunday, July 17 in Mt. Pleasant at the Hampton Inn on Sessions Way. The fastest riders are expected to arrive at approximately 11:45 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Additional riders will continue to arrive at their own pace until around 3:00 p.m.

Nearly 84,000 South Carolinians are living with Alzheimer’s or related dementia. Funds raised by A Ride to Remember help the Alzheimer’s Association raise awareness, advance research and advocate for those affected by the disease. The Alzheimer’s Association –  South Carolina Chapter provides information and referral, support groups, caregiver respite vouchers, care consultation, education and safety services to families affected by Alzheimer’s disease and related dementia.
