Woman arrested in connection to North Charleston bank robbery

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) — North Charleston Police made an arrest in a robbery of a Rivers Avenue bank.

Porche Washington, 25, of Charleston, is charged with entering a financial institution with the intent to steal.

Authorities responded to the Heritage Trust Federal Credit Union just before 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 13. Investigators said an African-American woman entered the bank, and showed a note to a teller demanding money. No weapon was involved.

We’re told the woman left the scene with an unknown amount of money.

Washington is expected to face a bond court judge on Saturday.
