News 2 I-Team investigates Charleston Co. school auction

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) — Chairs. Desks. Computers. And even rolls of paper. Schools sell hundreds of what they call surplus item in auctions.

Charleston County schools hold four auctions each year.

A News 2 viewers wrote our I-Team asking if the school district is leaving money on the table by selling the items off- sometimes at deep discounts.

We sent news 2 Investigator- Rebecca Collett- for answers.

She talked with the man who runs the program.
