Officials: Car slams into tree in deadly crash, driver was wearing a seat belt

One person killed in early morning wreck in West Ashley.

DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) — One person was killed in a vehicle crash in Summerville on Tuesday morning, according to the South Carolina Department of Public Safety.

It happened around 2:00 a.m. on Tuesday on Central Avenue.

A Toyota Camry was traveling South when it ran off the right side of the road and hit a tree.

We’re told only one vehicle was involved.

The driver was the only person in the car, and was wearing a seat belt.

No further information has been released at this time.
