Man charged with attempted murder following Williamsburg County shooting

NESMITH, S.C. (WCBD) — A man has been charged with attempted murder after a shooting.

Kendall Lamont Ellis, 43 has been charged with attempted murder after a shooting that took place on June 28, 2016 on Nesmith Road.

Investigators say Ellis shot the victim after he refused to pay the debt for a drag race.

The victim was flown to an area hospital for medical treatment, and is still recovering from his wound.

Ellis will appear before Williamsburg County on the charges held against him. Officials say the investigation in ongoing.
