LADSON, S.C. (WCBD) — Only a few people know Virginia Little’s nickname which why she knew exactly who stumbled into her backyard Monday night.
“I had been watching the news all weekend,” said Little, “when I turned around I heard Little Granny.”
Her Grandson, Donald Ray Little Jr., was the last of the three escaped Dorchester County inmates. He limped out from the bushes behind her home in Ladson. Virginia knew he had been on the run since Friday and gave him some grandmotherly advice. “I says you can’t keep this up now,” said Little.
She fixed her grandson some dinner and gave him a Coke before he called in his own arrest.
Granny Little says it’s better she found him than someone else. “If he’d a kept running or whatever and they had surrounded him he could have gotten shot,” said Little.
Donald Ray Little Jr. will appear in front of a bond court judge Wednesday morning.
