COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) – Headed out to eat in South Carolina? A new website from the state health department may help you decide where to dine.
The Department of Health and Environmental Control on Tuesday announced the launch of a new website called SC Food Grades . The agency says users can find and click on restaurants to view their most recent inspection scores and read the reports. People can also search using a variety of criteria, like a certain type of restaurant or a specific date range.
Users can also see reports and grades for grocery stores, food trucks, convenience stores and schools. DHEC conducts risk-based inspections on each of the more than 18,000 establishments in the state annually or quarterly, based on an establishment’s food processes and their compliance history.
