CROSS, S.C. (WCBD) — The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating following a deadly accident in Berkeley County.
Troopers say the accident took place on Highway 311 on Tuesday, June 28 at 7 a.m.
Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury says Brett Williams, 53 of Moncks Corner, was traveling on highway 311 when his car ran off the right side of the road and struck several trees. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Williams was pinned in the vehicle and was extricated by the local fire department. He was not wearing a seat belt.
His death was ruled accidental, Salisbury says.
