CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) — Four people were rescued by the U.S. Coast Guard after their boat capsized near The Washout.
We’re told the incident happened about 15 miles off of Folly Beach on Tuesday, June 28.
Officials say the survivors were safely transferred to a Coast Guard response boat. The survivors are being brought to Remley Point.
Thanks mostly to an EPIRB (Emergency position indicating radiobeacon) they activated, and a nearby good Samaritan, the four were able to be brought back to Charleston safely, authorities added.
In addition to the U.S. Coast Guard, the Charleston County Marine Unit also responded.
