Fireworks never allowed at South Carolina national forests

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WCBD) — Francis Marion and Sumter National Forests would like to remind visitors and campers that the use of fireworks and other pyrotechnic devices are prohibited on national forest lands and national grasslands year-round, regardless of weather conditions or holidays.

“As we approach the celebration of our nation’s independence, we remind forest visitors to celebrate safely,” said Acting Forest Supervisor Cherie Hamilton. “We share the responsibility to protect our public lands for generations to come, ad to do our part to reduce the threat of human-caused wildfires.”

Forest visitors are also reminded to ensure that all campfires are extinguished and cold to the touch before leaving them.
