CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) — The Charleston Water System will shut off water for customers along parts of Folly Road.
Officials say the shutdowns will take place over night between 9:30 p.m. – 4:30 a.m. during the week of June 20. The utility says it will relocate water lines in conjunction with the Charleston County Road Improvement Project at the intersection of Folly Road and Camp Road.
The first shutdown will take place on Monday, June 20. The shutdown will affect customers along Folly Road—from Camp Road heading south to the intersection of Ft. Johnson Road/Grimball Road.
The second shutdown will take place on Wednesday, June 22. The shutdown will affect customers along Folly Road—from Camp Road heading north to Hunley Avenue. It will affect portions of Carlisle Road and Brantley Drive.
“We appreciate our customers’ patience while we perform this work. Crews will work as efficiently as possible to minimize service disruption,” said Kin Hill, Charleston Water’s CEO.
Customers should temporarily store water for drinking, cooking, and toilet flushing in food grade containers for use during the shutdown.
