Sumter County church vandalized to the tune of $20k

Authorities now offer a reward for information leading to an arrest

WEDGEFIELD, S.C. — The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office is offering a reward for information on a vandalism that took place at a local church.

Authorities say the incident happened at Wedgefield Baptist Church between 6 p.m. Sunday, May 29 and 8 a.m. Tuesday, May 31.

We’re told the person or people responsible caused $20,000 in damages.

The Sheriff’s Office is offering a $500 reward for information leading to an arrest.
