Police chase leads to discovery of illegal narcotics

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) -Shortly before 1:30 p.m. Tuesday officers attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the Dorchester Waylyn neighborhood.

According to the North Charleston Police Department, the driver failed to stop and led officers of a pursuit up Dorchester Road to Montague Ave then on to I26 eventually exiting back on to Dorchester Road.

The pursuit ended when the driver wrecked the vehicle on Ferrarra Dr. and fled the vehicle with a gun in hand.

The driver was seen entering a residence on Woodlawn Ave and after several call outs by officers, he exited the residence and was taken in to custody.

Tradon Antwan Wright of Nantuckett Ave was arrested in connection to the incident.

Wright has been charged with failure to stop for blue lights and siren, PWID cocaine base, PWID controlled substance within half mile proximity to a school and unlawful carry of a pistol.

A search of the residence that Wright entered revealed the illegal narcotics.
