Nearly 33 million Twitter customers were hacked, and more than 120,000 of those had the 123456 password, according to security company Leakedsource.
Twitter’s security chief Michael Coates said, “We’re confident that our systems have not been breached.”
Coates said Twitter is working with Leakedsource to “take additional steps to protect users.”
Leakedsource said in its blog post that tens of millions of people were infected by malware, which sent the usernames and passwords from the browser back to the hackers.
