IKEA museum set for June 30 delivery

Why are bookshelves named Billy? Why can’t store layouts be normal? These questions, and more, will no doubt be posed by the visitors who head to the new IKEA Museum opening on June 30.

The IKEA Museum, which is about the history of the company and its products, will open in a remote southern village in Sweden. It is housed in what was once the very first IKEA store and has an exhibition area of almost 40,000 sq feet.

One exhibit will tell the stories of the longest serving products,

Visitors will get to see how people around the world have personalized their sofas and bookcases.
