Search is on for armed robbery suspects seen on video

SUMTER, S.C. (WCBD)  – The Sumter Police Department is investigating an armed robbery of a jewelry store.

Jewelry Wholesale on E. Wesmark Boulevard was robbed just before 4:45 p.m. on Monday, May 30. Authorities say four employees were in the store when two men with a handgun entered, demanding their personal belongings, including jewelry and wallets and purses. The suspects also took an undetermined amount of jewelry from the store, according to a news release.

We’re told the men then fled on foot toward the Sumter Mall. It is unclear if a get-away vehicle was involved. No one was injured in the incident.

One of robbers is described as wearing black shorts and a black shirt. He stands between 5’11 and 6 feet and weighs between 200-215 lbs. The other is about 5’6 inches tall and about 165 lbs. Both are between 25 and 35 years old.

Both men should be considered armed and dangerous.
