NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) — The City of North Charleston will consider building a new aquatics center along with Dorchester District 2.
Tuesday evening, the City Council will consider approving a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute an Intergovernmental Agreement between the City of North Charleston and DD2.
DD2 previously agreed to a deal with the Summerville YMCA for a new aquatics center. However, back in 2015, the Summerville YMCA says DD2 backed out of the deal.
Gary Lukridge, CEO of the Summerville YMCA says the partnership with DD2 ended after the district decided to work with someone else on the new center. That someone else was the City of North Charleston.
