Arrest made in murder of Andrews man at Myrtle Beach motel

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) – An arrest has been made in the murder of an Andrews man at a Myrtle Beach motel Friday morning.

Myrtle Beach Police arrested Lourie Earl Maurice Pearson, 24, Saturday for the crime.

Myrtle Beach police officers were called to reports of gunshots fired at the Fountainbleau Inn on Flagg Street around 2 a.m.wcbd-shootingfountainbleuinn

Lt. Joey Crosby said when officers arrived on scene, they found a victim and attempted to perform CPR. The man eventually died from his injuries, Crosby said.

Horry County Deputy Coroner Darris Fowler identifies the victim as 23-year-old Pierre Allen, of Andrews. An autopsy was scheduled for Friday afternoon, and the cause of death has been determined as mass trauma due to gunshot, adds Fowler.

MBPD Investigators are working this incident as a homicide. Crime Scene members were seen taking pictures and placing evidence markers in the parking lot outside the building.

Employees say they heard what sounded like firecrackers and then police came shortly after.

This isn’t the first shooting that has happened at this location. In 2014 over Memorial Day weekend, someone was shot in the leg at this same inn.

Pearson is charged with murder.
