Divers pull car from Upstate lake

SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA)- Spartanburg County crews are pulling out a car from the water that was submerged in Lake Bowen.

Deputies are trying to figure out if anyone was inside the car when it was submerged in Lake Bowen.

They got a call about a car in the lake just before 7 a.m. Monday at Suttles Rd. And Highway 9 at Lake Bowen.

Firefighters, state troopers and deputies all responded.

Deputies say dive teams were in the water all morning, trying to determine if the car had anyone in it. They’re also trying to figure out how long it had been in the water.

The coroner’s office was called as a precaution, because they are treating it as suspicious.

No body has been found. The car has been removed.
