3-year-old dies after being found floating in Hanahan swimming pool

HANAHAN, S.C. (WCBD) — The Hanahan Police Department and the Charleston County Coroner’s Office are investigating a child’s death.

Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury says on Wednesday, May 18,  3-year-old Daimere George was found floating in a swimming pool at the South Point Apartments in Hanahan.  The pool was not open at the time.

Medics transported George to the Medical University of South Carolina Hospital in critical condition.  After a one week stay in the hospital, he was pronounced dead on Wednesday, May 25 at 5:15 p.m.

An autopsy is scheduled to learn his official cause of death.
