COLUMBIA, S.C. – For the first time in her college career, there’s no wedge between Katelyn Dambaugh’s name and the top of the leaderboard.
The University of South Carolina junior golfer nabbed her first career college win at the Baton Rouge Regional.
“I’m playing the best golf I’ve played here,” said Dambaugh, a Pinewood Prep alumnus who calls Bulls Bay Golf Club her home course.
The 21-year-old sunk 16 birdies as the South Carolina earned a share of the NCAA Baton Rouge Regional title with Florida after finishing with a three-round total of 857 (-7).
Now the focus shifts to Eugene, Oregon where Dambaugh and the Gamecocks will compete at the NCAA championship.
