Police on scene of reported armed robbery in Mount Pleasant

Charleston Consolidated Dispatch has confirmed there was an armed robbery at the Circle K gas station located at the corner of Bowman Road and Mathis Ferry Road in Mount Pleasant. Police are on the scene.

Dispatch says the call came in at 3:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning.

Officials tell us the suspect was armed and is still at large. There were no injuries during the robbery.

This is the second time this gas station was robbed within one week. On Thursday, May 12, Mount Pleasant police say a man walked into the store at 12:58 a.m. and demanded cash and cigarettes. The suspect threatened to shoot the clerk. Officials have not said whether or not these two incidents are related.

Police are investigating the incident.
