Crews continue search for missing swimmer in Myrtle Beach

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – Crews are searching for a missing swimmer at 29th Avenue South in front of the Crown Reef Resort.

Myrtle Beach Police Sgt. Phillip Cain said officers responded to a distressed swimmer call at 6:15 p.m. He said four people reported seeing a distressed swimmer in the water.

Cain said no one has filed a missing person’s report. The Coast Guard assisted in the search with a helicopter and boat on the water.

According to Sgt. Cain, officers will be patrolling the beach overnight.
