CCSD: proposing to move students to save thousands

CHARLESTON, SC (WCBD) – The Charleston County School District is proposing a change to move students from Sanders-Clyde Middle School.

The plan calls to move sixth through eighth grade students from Sanders-Clyde to Simmons-Pinckney Middle School.

Another part of the plan would move sixth graders from Charleston Progressive Academy to Simmons-Pinckney, it would also move four Head Start classes from Thomas Meyer Head Start Center into Sanders-Clyde.

School district officials said the changes would make for a more comprehensive middle school experience and also save them more than $200,000 in the long run.
