Charleston PD search for information about incident at strip club

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) — The Charleston Police Department is looking for information on an assault resulting in death.

On Monday, May 2 at about 11:50 p.m., an assault occurred in front of Stilettos Gentlemen’s Club. The incident resulted in the death of David Lacz. Lacz, 56, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, died early Wednesday morning at the Medical University of South Carolina Hospital of head injuries.

An incident report says Lacz was being escorted Alfred Joseph Asher Jr., 33, when Lacz rushed Asher, who pushed Lacz away to defend himself. Lacz fell and hit his head on concrete pavement, the incident report added.

Asher was charged with manslaughter. He turned himself in around 10 a.m. Friday. He appeared before a bond judge and was granted a $50,000 bond.
