CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) — A church that started with nothing but hope has finally found a permanent home.
Awaken Church was the host of the “Charleston United” worship and prayer gathering following the Mother Emanuel shooting last June. The gathering was in hopes of uniting people together under the banner of faith.
After renting space in three different locations, the church will have its very first service in their own space in North Charleston on Sunday.
Lead Pastor Brandon Bowers invites everyone to go out and join in on the celebration this Mothers Day. Two services will be held, one at 9 a.m. and one at 10:30 a.m.
