Video of man chased from Target goes viral

YULEE, Fla. (WFLA) – A Florida woman chased a man out of a North Florida Target store after she said he made inappropriate comments to her while she was shopping.

Candice Spivey is credited with capturing the dramatic video encounter and with exposing a potential voyeur.

Spivey said she was shopping inside the Yulee Target store when the man, whom police have identified as Jeffery Polizzi, approached her.

It’s not the first time the two have met. According to Spivey, the man had approached her 2-years old at a Publix store. At the time, he had two young boys with him.

Instantaneously recognizing the man, Spivey quickly took out her phone and captured herself approaching him and then chasing him out of the store.

“Do you remember running into me at the grocery store? Hey, you – where you going? Come back,” Spivey can be heard on the video saying to Polizzi.

The video, which Spivey posted on her Facebook page following the encounter, has been viewed more than 1.5 million times and shared more than 24-thousand times.

“He said get away from me, or stop leave me alone or something. And that’s when I just wanted to say NO you need to leave everyone else alone,” she said.

Calling him very believable, Spivey told WJXT he comes up to you with a genuine need for your help regarding a dress he bought for his wife, but that’s when the conversation quickly gets awkward…as he starts asking indecent questions about undergarments. She says he also asked her about her body.

“He realized he had messed up and that’s when he turned around and took off running. I chased him because I wanted to get information on who he was. I wanted the public to be aware of him,” Spivey recounted.

Since word of her encounter with Polizzi went viral, more than 50 other women say they’ve seen this man before. Even the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office saying “Omg, so many! Please contact Det. Kelley, we want to keep a record. We appreciate it if you do.

Polizzi took off in his car after the incident. He was later arrested and charged with driving recklessly. He has since bonded out.

The Nassau County Sheriff’s Office tells WJXT that while what Polizzi did is not illegal, it is disturbing. As a result, they are asking for women who may have seen or had an encounter with him to come forward and talk with detectives.
